After over 10 months of construction, the statue of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin in the Linh Ung 3 Pagoda in Son Tra District, in the central city of Da Nang, is nearly finished.
The highest Bodhisattva Kwan Yin statue will be completed this year’s end.
The statue is 65 metres (over 213 feet) high, equivalent to a 30-storey building. Its bottom diameter is 30 metres (over 98 feet).
This is the second huge Buddha statue in Vietnam, next to the statue of the Maitreya on Cam Mountain in the southern province of An Giang, which is 33.36m (over 109 feet) high, made by sculptors Thuy Lam and Chau Viet Thanh.
The statue of Bodhisattva Kwan Yin in Da Nang will be recognized as a national record.
